{{ 0:varu_sprite.png?100x100}} **Varunalas** (VUH-roo-nuh-luhs) is a Fire/Ground-type Pokémon introduced in v1.0 of [[:horizon mons|Horizon 'Mons]], and Wave 4 of [[:new dawn|New Dawn]]

**Varunalas** was first conceptualised on December 5, 2022. It was publicly released on the [[:new dawn|New Dawn]] Minecraft Server on December 15, 2025.

===== Pokédex Entry =====
Varunalas are savage Pokemon. Being in close vicinity to molten glass and high temperatures for so long have made its organs a similar material. This Pokemon is extremely dangerous to touch, only its read head plating is safe. Varunalas glass is a sought after luxury, but unethical.
===== Evolution =====
Evolves from [[:dawnian treecko|Dawnian Treecko]] at Level 30. Varunalas does not evolve.
===== Appearance =====
Varunalas resembles a large quadrupedal lizard, bearing a striking resemblance in physique to a komodo dragon. It has earthy brown skin with dark spots. It also has a red coloring on its head. All over its body, arms, legs, and tail are blobs of yellowish-orange molten glass. 
===== Locations =====
**Varunalas** can spawn in Volcanic Craters, Peaks, and Ashen Savannas. It is a **Blank** spawn, and can spawn at level Blank.

**Varunalas** is based on many different kinds of reptiles, like the Komodo Dragon and Agama Lizards. It is also heavily based on the concept of vitrification and molten glass in the wild. **Varunalas** is also based on the concept of habitat displacement, as in lore, Hoennian Treecko were moved from their forest habitat to higher volcanic regions due to flooding.
