Dawnian Treecko (TREE-ko) is a Fire-type Pokémon introduced in v1.0 of Horizon 'Mons.
Pokédex Entry
Violent weather drove Treecko to volcanic regions where it began to change form over time. It crushes and heats rock it finds to stick to its tail as a symbol of status to rival Treecko. This Treecko is much more violent than Hoenn's. It gets into brutal battles with rival Treecko, slamming their red face plates into each other until one shatters.
Evolution
Dawnian Treecko evolves into Dawnian Grovyle at level 16. Dawnian Grovyle evolves into Varunalas at level 36.
Locations
Dawnian Treecko can spawn in Nether Wastes and Crimson Forest Biomes. If Terralith is installed, it can also spawn in Volcanic and Ashen biomes. It is a Ultra-rare spawn, and can spawn at level 5-31.

* Along with the Dawnian Mudkip and Dawnian Torchic line, Dawnian Grovyle and its line are the oldest Pokémon in Horizon 'Mons, being conceived on December 5, 2022.
Origin
Dawnian Treecko is based on many different kinds of reptiles, like the Komodo Dragon and Agama Lizards. It is also heavily based on the concept of vitrification and molten glass in the wild. Dawnian Treecko is also based on the concept of habitat displacement, as in lore, Hoennian Treecko were moved from their forest habitat to higher volcanic regions due to flooding.
Etymology
Treecko is a combination of tree and gecko.
