Trivia

* Along with the Dawnian Mudkip and Dawnian Torchic line, Varunalas and its line are the oldest Pokémon in Horizon 'Mons, being conceived on December 5, 2022.

Origin

Varunalas is based on many different kinds of reptiles, like the Komodo Dragon and Agama Lizards. It is also heavily based on the concept of vitrification and molten glass in the wild. Varunalas is also based on the concept of habitat displacement, as in lore, Hoennian Treecko were moved from their forest habitat to higher volcanic regions due to flooding.

Etymology

Varunalas is a combination of the words Varanus and glass.
